GLS

GLS is a wraparound with almost no bridge. Two long ovals meet at a pinch in the centre and run straight out to the temple, where the frame lifts into a small hook rather than sitting on a hinge plate. It exists in two versions: one in dark acetate, with a slow wave running down the temple arm and a smoked blue lens; one drawn in thin polished metal, the rim reduced until it reads as a single wire around each lens. Both come off the same line. The frame is one sweep from temple tip to temple tip, and nothing on it reads as a joint — no hinge plate, no bridge bar. It bends where a normal frame would need a part. 2022, and the earliest eyewear in the archive. This is where the later frames start.
