KOVA
A one-piece mule ribbed like a wave

KOVA is a backless mule with no seams in it. The upper is a single grey mass ribbed by wave-shaped bands that run heel to toe, each band filled with a fine woven weave and separated by a channel deep enough to cast its own shadow. Underneath, the midsole runs out past the upper and breaks into a row of fat rounded lugs. The heel is open and the collar is one plain thick loop.
The shoe is made to come off the machine in one piece, so every line on it has to be geometry rather than a panel. The waves are the pattern and the structure at once — they stiffen the toe, soften across the midfoot, and give the eye something to follow along a shape that is otherwise one closed volume.
A 2026 mule, drawn with early-2000s proportion: wide, low, and deliberately heavy at the ground.
