JOC

The same black and white, let off the leash

A black-on-white drawing of long swinging curves, lens and teardrop shapes, scattered circles and squares, with a solid black cube at the centre showing one grey face

The sibling sheet, made four days later, and everything the other one holds still is loose here. Long curves swing across the whole page and double back. Lens shapes and teardrops fly off them. Circles scatter, some filled, some open.

In the middle sits the one solid thing: a black cube seen at an angle, one face caught in grey light, heavy enough that the curves seem to be swinging around it.

JOC is play. In Romanian it is also the word for a dance.
