Dream — the largest sheet of the run, 139 × 100 cm

A great insect with meshed wings floating across the sheet, smaller ones scattering ahead of it, loose spirals below, the quartered storage folds running straight through the image
A single winged form crosses the sheet, its wings drawn as fine mesh, with a scatter of smaller ones running ahead of it and a loop of line trailing underneath. Nothing anchors it to a ground. Sodium hypochlorite — household bleach — drawn onto black paper with brush, dropper and bare hand. The bleach lifts the dye out of the sheet rather than adding anything to it, so every mark arrives pale gold and none of them can be taken back. A line keeps spreading after the hand has left, which means the drawing finishes itself. Titled VIS — dream. At 139 by 100 centimetres it is the largest of the caustic sheets, and it was stored folded in quarters, so the creases now cross the drawing.
