WIDE DANCE
One tall canvas, and everything happening across the bottom of it

A tall white canvas with most of it left empty. A red bar lies at a slant near the top, a thin black line loops down the whole height, and everything that actually happens — a tangle of black loops, red splash, a small ringed disc — is gathered low, above a red band painted straight across the foot of the canvas.

It is the widest and loosest of the red-and-black run: the marks are thrown rather than placed, and the red splash was made in one flick that broke into droplets on landing. The line is the only slow thing in it.

The emptiness above is not waiting to be filled. It is what makes the bottom read as a stage.
