YOU COMPOSED

One stroke, six panels, and it does not stop at the joins

Six white panels hung as one field: a long red arc on the left, a heavy black sweep crossing the middle with a drip falling from it, a red disc, and a short black bar below
Six white panels hung as one horizontal field, crossed by a single sweeping black brush stroke, a red arc beneath it, a red disc in the middle and a short black slash; a visitor stands looking at it
Espronceda, Barcelona, November 2020, photographed by Victor.

Six white panels hung together as one field, and a single black stroke that crosses every join between them. It begins bottom left as a dry dragged mass, lifts into a hard black bar along the top, then breaks apart into spray and falls away to the right.

The same six-panel work on the far wall of the room, with a visitor in a VR headset standing in front of the screen beside it
The wall it shared with the VR station.

The red arc, and the blob where the brush lifted off.

A red arc runs beneath it the other way and ends in a small red blob, where the brush left the surface. A red disc sits in the middle, wound on in a spiral. One short black slash below it.

Close view of the black sweep at its heaviest, with a drip running down out of it
The drip. Gravity got there before the paint dried.

The stroke was made in one pass and the paint was still wet — a drip runs down out of the black where gravity got to it before it dried. The panels are square and still. The mark is not.

Where the brush ran out and the stroke turned to spray.

Shown at Espronceda, Barcelona, November 2020, on the wall beside the VR station.
