A plain orange work shirt, the kind sold for a trade, and on it panels cut out of a painting. The painting came first and separately: black and white pulled across a canvas with a wide blade, one red line running down through it. It was then cut up.

One rectangle sits high on the chest, one on a sleeve, a small diamond on the other arm, and the largest fills the back. They are sewn flat with the edges left raw, so they read as patches rather than prints. The title is what anyone says when they see it, and the joke does real work: the painting is not reproduced on the garment, it is on the garment, in pieces, and there is only one of it.
