HEAVENLY CLOUDS

Indigo taken out in cloud shapes, and eyes put into the gaps

The jacket flat, indigo bleached away in soft cloud banks with the white of the denim showing through
The jacket flat and spread, the pale areas reading as sky across the chest and sleeves
Spread out

The opposite move to the black jacket. Instead of marks put onto the cloth, whole areas of indigo are taken out of it, so what is left is a blue sky with the white showing through in soft banks. Nothing is drawn on the front at all; the pattern is entirely what the bleach removed.

The jacket folded, a small black eye inked into one of the pale gaps near the shoulder
One of the eyes
The jacket folded close, a second eye beside a button and the collar turned back
And another, beside a button

Then, in a few of the pale gaps, a small eye in black ink. There are only a handful and they are easy to miss, which is the point. A jacket covered in eyes would be a costume. A jacket with four is something that noticed you.

The jacket being worn at a gallery opening, two people talking in front of a hung work
Not on the rail. He wore it.

One of the four jackets of YOUR JACKET MY CANVAS, 2020. He wore this one to the opening rather than hanging it.
